What is the difference between B.Sc biotech and B.Tech biotech?

A B.Tech degree in biotechnology exposes you to both the biological sciences as well as the chemical engineering principles involved in biotechnology. This degree gives students the skill sets required to find jobs in labs and industries alike. A B.Sc degree on the other hand focuses more on the biological sciences aspect of biotechnology. Yes, there will be a few subjects (1 or 2) related to industrial processes but the main emphasis will be on R&D in biological sciences fields such as cell biology, microbiology, molecular biology, genetics etc.

They are not comparable. B.Sc. In Biotechnology deals with basic and applied aspects of all fields of biotechnology, especially human health. B.Tech course deals mostly with the engineering and applied aspects of the field. Biotechnology in India has seen a copious amount of growth in the past decade. It has entered a new era witnessing significant growth in research field, new and the latest bio-engineering techniques, and also in the economic sector. With many government entrance exams now available in biotechnology, there also has been an exponential growth observed in the number of private colleges and universities offering biotechnology-related areas. There are numerous colleges that are now providing various programme courses in the field of biotechnology. Live projects spread across five semesters help develop research aptitude in students. The course offers specializations in Dairy Technology, Fermentation Technology and Bioinformatics. The curriculum offers prime focus on fundamental and applied aspects of biotechnology. In addition to core curricula, course offers subjects like communication and soft skills to enhance personality and employability. Participation in technical events, conferences, workshops, sports and cultural activities help in the holistic development of students There are BIO ANALYTICAL TECHNIQUES that provides an understanding of the basic principles and applications of analytical techniques used in Biology. There is a course Human Genetics that deals with investigation of human hereditary qualities looking at real leaps forward and current issues in human heredity. The course will incorporate the investigation of hereditary qualities, and the societal ramifications of themes, for example, the human genome venture, DNA fingerprinting, hereditary qualities and knowledge, and hereditary building. If you re looking for quality education, good placements, exposure, academics then LPU is right place, it has all. I am saying this because one of my known is pursuing same course from LPU and her experience is amazing. She told me faculty members works hard tirelessly in enabling students with the acumen to apply the findings of Bio sciences in the fields of medicine, forensics, nutrition and dietetics for the benefit of the community. There are many differences between B. Tech biotechnology and B.Sc Biotechnology. Tech Biotechnology you will learn about other branches of engineering also in your first year whereas in B.Sc biotechnology you will directly learn about your core subjects.If you are looking for best university for B.Tech Biotechnology and B.Sc. BSc in Biotechnology deals with basic and applied aspects of all fields of biotechnology, especially human health. It is a baseline for MSc that may culminate in a PhD. BTech course deals mostly with the engineering and applied aspects of the field. If you are looking for best university for B.Tech Biotechnology and B.SC biotechnology, course, I would say Lovely professional University is best University to pursue this course. The major difference between any B.Sc. Degree and B.Tech degree is the fact that admission to B.Tech is a professional engineering degree and only approved engineering institutes are authorized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the University Grants Commission (India) (UGC) to give this degree; B.Sc. However, is an academic course which is available in almost every college of India. So B.Tech degree has a higher brand value and employability quotient. The course of B.Sc. Biotechnology is of 3 years while that of B.Tech Biotechnology extends over a span of 4 years. LPU provides both B.Sc. And B.Tech degree in Biotechnology The eligibility criteria for both are as follow B.Sc. Biotechnology - 60% in Chemistry Physics Maths/Biology + LPUNest B.Tech Biotechnology - 60% with English Physics maths/biology, Chemistry +LPUNest Biotechnology covers many different disciplines (eg. Genetics, biochemistry, molecular Biology etc. ). New technologies and products are developed every year within the areas of eg. Medicine (development of new medicines and therapies), agriculture (development of genetically modified plants, biofuels, biological treatment) or industrial biotechnology (production of chemicals, paper, textiles and food). .
