Hello,
B.Tech is your regular engineering degree with 8 semesters and some predesignated credits and subjects for your specialisation. This is the degree that most colleges and universities offer.
But, some autonomous colleges and deemed universities offer a choice to take up some electives or extra courses apart from the regime ones. These courses can be about advanced subjects in your specialisation, research, interdisciplinary studies, etc. You can take these as complementary courses during the same 8 semesters or also work on them during semester breaks or after the 4 years.
