These are nearly same in terms of syllabus the only difference which you can see in job profile. CS engineers are mostly found in coding jobs whether it is front end or back end and IT engineers are found in data management sector.

B.Tech CSE deals with the core engineering with computers and computing machines to learn the technology used and the architecture inside. B.Tech IT is a programme on Information Technology. This concerns with processing the data generated at various nodes such as sensors for reading air quality, transferring and analyzing data at a retailer, booking railway tickets etc. Computers are of great help for processing most of these data.

    Hi Kerthik!
There is no major difference between CSE and it. In simple words IT is the sub branch of CSE. Almost 90% of the CSE syllabus are same with it engineering. So, if your rank is a little less, then you should go for Information technology. Opportunities are same for both the branches.
    Best of luck.
