There is a difference between B.A. Economics and Economics Honors, where the former would cover the basics of Economics; it would later give you the in-depth knowledge of Economics.
Although, the scope of a program is a very subjective term which would largely depend on your own caliber and the capacity to perform but Eco (Honors) student would definitely have an upper hand when it comes to career opportunities. Also the salary structure would vary again depending on your performance on the program and how you use the knowledge earned through the degree.
