Biotechnology can be used as a type of instrument or apparatus for bio-engineering purposes. Biotechnology, I would say, is the wide array of applications produced through biology in order to create an end product or result. Bio-engineering, on the other hand, can utilize biotechnology in order to solve complex medical and engineering problems.
