"The Chartered Accountant course is conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) whereas CPA is an exam conducted by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountant (AICPA). CPA course requires anywhere from 7 months to 1 year to complete. On the other hand, you need to spend at least 4 to 5 years to complete your Chartered Accountant course. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a designation given by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants to those who pass an exam and meet work experience requirements. For the most part, the accounting industry is self-regulated. Whereas, CA is well known course that can be easily pursued from India itself. The quality of pass out from ICAI is internationally renowned. It is therefore advisable to go for CA. I hope this would suffice.
