    Hi,
Computer science is fundamentally about the study of computation, its theoretical properties, and practical approaches for efficient computation.
Information Science focuses on how people can use technology to better organize, analyze, and disseminate information.
Of course, there is substantial overlap between the IS and CS, such as in the areas of information retrieval, natural language processing, or large-scale social network analysis. But fundamentally, CS is about algorithms and IS is about technology and people.
