What is the difference between computer science engineering and information technology engineering?

Hi Shrinivas, Both CSE and IT are similar but they do have some differences. The major difference between both these field is that IT deals with the application of computing technology to real life processes, while, Computer Science deals with the science that facilitates these applications. Computer Science and Engineering students study about design, implementation, and management of information system of both software and hardware processes. Information Technology deals with installation, development and implementation of computer systems and applications. Job prospects: The job opportunities are similar but CSE grads can have a wide scope of work as they deal with many aspects. Both these grads can work in the IT companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, HCL Infotech, IBM, etc. They can also work in the public sectors like BSNL, ISRO and counting.
