What is the difference between CS and IT?

I am a class 11th science. I want to opt for CS or IT in class 11th.

    Information technology (IT) may adopt the monikers information systems or systems administration. Essentially, IT professionals are the users of technology.
    Whereas, Computer Science(CSE) background person, i.e computer 'scientists' are focused on the theory of computational applications. That means they understand the why behind computer programs.
