Both streams are pretty much the same. The syllabus is a bit different and that is all. Maybe you should know this that in GATE examination CSE and IT students sit for the same paper. If you want to be a coder it doesn't really matter which stream you are from, so if you get IT in a good college then go for it.
Companies look for talent. If you are good at what you do and have good grades then you will get recognition. Having said this don't opt for a college which is not that good, which does not have a very good work environment, because you need to have a good atmosphere around you in order to achieve your goals. So, look for a good...more -
Both have very good scope. You can choose any branch according to your interest. If we compare both the branches then CSE has more scope than IT. Dear Mrinal, The major difference between both these fields is that IT deals with the application of computing technology to real-life processes, while, Computer Science deals with the Science that facilitates these applications. Mirinal, don't go with which stream is better. Go with what you want do after studying B.Tech. You may take following considerations. If you like computer, want to build crazy application or something related to software go with Computer Science engineering. If you like playing with machines/motors or electricity go ahead with Mechanical engineering. Or Electrical engineering. If you are India, after studying Electronics and communication engineering most of the students gets job/work in IT companies. Only few percent gets chance in electronics companies. So I would suggest, better to study Computer Science engineering. If you want to...more
