Both streams are pretty much the same. The syllabus is a bit different and that is all. Maybe you should know this that in GATE examination CSE and IT students sit for the same paper. If you want to be a coder it doesn't really matter which stream you are from, so if you get IT in a good college then go for it.
Companies look for talent. If you are good at what you do and have good grades then you will get recognition. Having said this don't opt for a college which is not that good, which does not have a very good work environment, because you need to have a good atmosphere around you in order to achieve your goals. So, look for a good

Both have very good scope. You can choose any branch according to your interest. If we compare both the branches then CSE has more scope than IT. IT Specialists are required in almost all range of employment fields such as finance, arts, medicine, defence, and other areas. CSE is one of the branches in LPU having wonderful placements. Most of students get placed in reputed companies with few opting for higher studies. Special inputs in the form of placement classes are given to students to hone their skills and prepare them for placements. Professors are easily approachable in the college and are well experienced. They are very support

Dear Mrinal, The major difference between both these fields is that IT deals with the application of computing technology to real-life processes, while, Computer Science deals with the Science that facilitates these applications. On the other hand, IT is just the selection of the proper software or hardware for the task. Both the branches have a very good scope in India as well as abroad. I have many friends who have done B.Tech in CSE & IT at LPU. I highly recommend LPU for these branches. There are some points I would like to share about why CSE/IT is good for LPU. Good Placement: LPU has a good placement record for CSE students.

The major difference between both these field is that IT deals with the application of computing technology to real life processes, while, Computer Science deals with the science that facilitates these applications. To make it short and simple, Computer Science is the creation of software and hardware by using different programming skills. On the other hand, IT is just the selection of the proper software or hardware for the task.
Being an alumni of LPU I had lot of friends in CSE stream so I had an idea about the B.Tech CSE. They are placed in eminent institutions by completing their study from LPU as they found themselves quite fortun

Mirinal, don't go with which stream is better. Go with what you want do after studying B.Tech. You may take following considerations. If you like computer, want to build crazy application or something related to software go with Computer Science engineering. If you like playing with machines/motors or electricity go ahead with Mechanical engineering. Or Electrical engineering. If you are India, after studying Electronics and communication engineering most of the students gets job/work in IT companies. Only few percent gets chance in electronics companies. So I would suggest, better to study Computer Science engineering. If you want to
