Both streams are pretty much the same. The syllabus is a bit different and that is all. Maybe you should know this that in GATE examination CSE and IT students sit for the same paper. If you want to be a coder it doesn't really matter which stream you are from, so if you get IT in a good college the

Both have very good scope. You can choose any branch according to your interest. If we compare both the branches then CSE has more scope than IT. Mirinal, don't go with which stream is better. Go with what you want do after studying B.Tech. You may take following considerations. If you like computer, want to build crazy application or something related to software go with Computer Science engineering. If you like playing with machines/motors
