What is the difference between Electrical engineering and Electrical and Electronics engineering?

Electrical engg and electronics enng both are core branch of engg. But due to new application and gadgets both enng combined and a new engg field emerge called electrical and electronics engg. all are good. you can seat for GATE in both opting EEE.
