Food and Beverage and Food production both are integral departments of the hotel function. The difference lies in the type of services and the nature of the work that would be required to be done by the people involved. Although, one important fact is that they both deal with an important aspect food.
The food and beverage department involves the service and the presentation of food to the guest. The preparation of the beverage section at the bar, mocktail/cocktail areas, open buffet all lie under the food and beverage department.
The food production departments is a more technical role player where the work is all related to the kitchen

They are the server of food and beverage to the guest. Whatever guests demand they take the order and chef prepares it. They serve it to the guest. After a guest is done with his/her meal, they do the clearance.
