What is the difference between government and private engineering institutes?

Government engineering colleges have a fee structure, which is pocket friendly. Government and private college infrastructure depends on the college premise and the maintenance. In private colleges, rules are not that strict.

Hi, You need to consider the below mentioned points: 1. Fees: Government engineering colleges charge fees as decided by the government and in private college, the fee will be on higher side. 2. Infrastructure: Government colleges generally lack essential infrastructure for students like hostels, computer lab, other labs, furniture, etc. The staff of the engineering college manages with the minimum equipment available in these colleges. Private engineering colleges have good infrastructure when compared to government engineering colleges. The private engineering colleges advertise about infrastructure in their marketing promotions. 3. Teaching faculty: Government colleges have good faculty on the rolls and the government also pays the faculty well. With regular pay raises, the life of a government engineering college professor is easy. Private colleges do appoints best and experienced faculties from academics or corporate fields and the salary is also maintained on the high scale. 4. Placements: The placements are rather high in private engineering colleges. Multinational companies like Dell, Axis Bank, Accenture, Federal Bank, Infosys, L&T visit the campus of premiere engineering colleges. The students of the engineering colleges form their own placement committee and scout for placements and the college provides support in the form of exclusive placement officer. Both are good in different respects. Fees wise government engineering colleges are pocket-friendly. But faculty and placements wise, good private engineering colleges are the best for engineering.

The government has complete authority over government engineering institutes. Private aided colleges, on the other hand, are run by trusts but receive government funding. Private trusts are solely responsible for the operation of private engineering colleges. I suggest LPU in private colleges and IITs in India's state institutions in terms of engineering.
