    Instrumentation engineering and control engineering are very closely related. In fact, in some engineering universities, the degree is given as Instrumentation and Control Engineering. Instrumentation engineering is concerned with the study of instruments used to measure data for process parameters that are to be controlled.     An Automation Engineer is responsible for the full manufacturing process to be operated automatically. The Instrumentation and Control Engineer specifically looks after the equipment that does the control (Controllers, PLC, Control Valves,. ).
