Instrumentation engineering and control engineering are very closely related. In fact, in some engineering universities, the degree is given as Instrumentation and Control Engineering. Instrumentation engineering is concerned with the study of instruments used to measure data for process parameters that are to be controlled. The instruments could be electrical, electro-mechanical, or electronic.
