What is the difference between IT and CSE? Which one is having a higher scope?

Syllabus of B.Tech in CSE and B.Tech in IT is similar up to 80-90% in various universities. Courses on Computer languages, data structure, databases, and networking, etc., are common. B.Tech in IT programme is primarily focused on in the field of computer applications such as mobile computing, ERP, SCM, etc. Whereas, B.Tech in CSE programme primarily focuses on subjects with more mathematical and theoretical foundations of computing rather than emphasising specific technologies. It covers all emerging topic like Artificial Intelligence, BIDW, etc. B.Tech in CSE graduates can work both as systems and apps programmer, whereas, B.Tech in IT graduates are trained only as the application programmers. Market acceptance of both the degrees is almost similar in app development and maintenance companies. However, IT product companies prefer B.Tech in CSE graduates. In any engineering entrance examination seats of B.Tech in CSE are filled fast.
