What is the difference between IT and CSE? Which one offers better teaching for these courses among NIT's and GFTI's?

Generally for placements or higher studies, preference is given to a student from CSE background as compared to IT. This is because a student from CSE is presumed to be familiar with all concepts of subjects offered in IT, but the same cannot be said for a student of IT.

The major difference is- IT deals with softwares whereas CS has both hardware and software.
