The two languages are completely unrelated. JavaScript was originally called Livescript, and was renamed when Java was introduced as a kind of cross-marketing. There was some hope that they'd be used together and evolve together. They never really were; Java applets never took off. Some of the key differences are mentioned below : 1. Java is an OOP programming language while JavaScript is an OOP scripting language. 2.
