What is the difference between JEE Mains and Advanced?

    JEE Mains is the Stage 1 Examination for admission into Engineering Courses. Whereas JEE Advanced is the Step 2 Examination. Admission to IITs are done through JEE Advanced. Admission to NITs, IIITs and Other Engineering Colleges are done through JEE Mains.

    JEE Main and JEE Advanced are inter-related. The score of JEE Main is essential for getting into 4 year degree courses of institutions like NITs, IIITs and other national level colleges in India. Only those who qualify JEE Main are entitled to sit for JEE Advanced. Those successful in Advanced are then entitled to gain admission into first semester degree programs offered by IITs.
    Some of the basic differences between JEE Main and Advanced are listed below:
    - Anybody who satisfies the eligibility criteria can sit for JEE Main. But, the top 150000 rankers of JEE Main are eligible to sit for JEE Advanced.

    Jee mains- For admissions in NITs,CFTIs, GFTIs, IIITs. n various private institutes
    JEE advanced - For admissions in IITs, ISM, ISC

    JEE mains is for admission to NITs collage means national institute of technology or also for government and atonomus colleges.and JEE advance is also referred as IIT- JEE which is for admission of indian institute of technology.
