What is the difference between JEE mains and JEE Advanced exam?

JEE Main test some lesser level of knowledge and it give admissions in NIT iiits and gftis on the other hand JEE Advanced conducted by IITs and test your deep knowledge. For admission in IIT you must qualify this exam.

Hi, JEE Mains is the Stage 1 Examination for admission into Engineering Courses. Whereas JEE Advanced is the Step 2 Examination. Admission to IITs is done through JEE Advanced. Admission to NITs, IIITs and Other Engineering Colleges are done through JEE Mains.

JEE Mains is for getting admission in top NITs and IIITs while Advanced is for getting admissions in IITs. Once you clear JEE Mains with a good rank then you can appear in JEE Advanced.

JEE Mains is the basic paper or you can say selection paper for the advance, if you clear Mains only then you will be able to appear in the advance paper. Plus the Mains paper is for the NITs and GFTIs and the advance paper is for the IITs, IISERs.

JEE Mains and JEE Advanced are two different engineering entrance exams. JEE Mains is conducted just after 12th Boards in the month of April. The difference in JEE main and advance is of hardness level of question. In JEE main, basic and concept based question are asked and in advance the question are basic, but we have to solve it by using many concept.
