What is the difference between M.Tech and MS?

M.Tech/ME is a course programme, whereas MS is a research programme. Theoretical differences:. M.Tech/ME has more coursework than project work, in MS coursework is minimal and large chunk of credits allotted to thesis. M.Tech is a post graduate course offered by Indian Institutes, and MS is other name for it which is offered by other country Institutes. Both are Technical PG course.
