    Zubin has already replied you. it is just extension of that it depends what career You want to make. it is pointless if you do not do your MBA from top 50 institutes. if you are more interested in technical field, master in engineering is preferable and if You are more interested in managerial and operational role go for MBA. It is pointless to do M.Tech if you are in IT but if it is pointless to do MBA if your career ambition is production

    Masters in engineering is more technical focussed. for a particular sector perse , and Mba is holistic for all sectors and implies general management with specialization in Finance, Marketing, Hr, Systems, Operations and has better scope and opportunity.
