What is the difference between Masters in mechanical (or automotive) and Masters of science in mechanical (or automotive)?

    If you are talking about IIT programmes or programmes offered by some reputed universities, M Tech is generally a course/credit based programme wherein the student pursues a certain number of PG level courses apart from project work as to complete within 24 months. MS or M.Sc (Engineering) is generally a research based programme wherein the scholars enrolled for the same are expected to invest more time in research activity. It can be likened to a shorter version of a research based programme, but not at the level of a PhD. The load on course work required for the completion of the degree is dependent on the learner.
