What is the difference between MBA and PGDM? Can I do PhD after PGDM?

Technically there is not much difference between PGDM and MBA. PGDM is awarded by colleges approved by AICTE and MBA is offered by Universities approved by UGC. PGDM is equivalent to MBA if it is approved by AIU. U can do PHD after MBA

The main reason why postgraduate courses are named as PGDM is because when an Institute is an autonomous body (meaning it is not affiliated to any University) and conducts management courses then such Institutes cannot offer MBA degree. Even IIMs, XLRIs doesnt offer MBA degrees they only give PGP Di

You can go for PhD after PGDM, provided your PGDM is equivalent to MBA as regulated and approved by AIU.
