Hello,
A PGDM certificate is given by a college affiliated to the AICTE whereas an MBA is given only by an independent University. Both are considered as equivalent in India; what matters more is from where are you pursuing it. For example, a PGDM from an esteemed B-school is any day more valuable than an MBA from an average college, and vice-versa. -

7 years agoPost Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) or Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM) or Masters in Business Administration (MBA) are both management courses at Masters level. Both the courses have a commercial orientation and its difficult to differentiate between the two.
MBA and PGDM are both business orientated courses. The main aim of the courses is to equip a person who wants to move up in the hierarchy and enter into the management field. At the end of PGP and PGDM course, candidates are offered a Diploma. However, at the end of MBA programmes, candidates receive a degree.
