A Masters in Business Administration (MBA) is a degree course offered by the colleges affiliated to the universities while the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) is a diploma course offered by the institutes that are recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
No if you do PGDM you will not be able to get MBA degree. because PGDM is a diploma -
MBA is a degree program affiliated to a university while PGDM is a pg diploma run autonomously by the institute. Both the programs need to be approved by AICTE in India.
PGDM is considered equivalent to MBA only if the institute has approval from Association of Indian Universities (AIU). PGDM will not give you a degree. It will be only a post graduate diploma which will be equivalent to MBA through AIU only , otherwise you will not be able to pursue higher degrees like PhD after PGDM.
