Only BCA in the same year of completion can take lateral entry in 2nd year of MCA. This enable them to complete MCA in two years instead of three years as Ist year of MCA covers subjects already done by them in BCA syllabus. Best wishes.

Hi, The duration for MCA program is 3 years, but through lateral entry you can save 1 year. According to AICTE norms, all BCA students can apply for lateral admission for MCA. All the best.
