What is the difference between MCA lateral and MCA full course?

MCA lateral and MCA both are the full time programmes. In MCA lateral a candidate get admission in second year directly, if he is meeting the specific eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria of MCA lateral is given below. Eligibility criteria for MCA lateral : The candidates should have passed Bachelor's Degree of minimum 3 years duration in BCA/B.Sc. (IT/ Computer Science) with Mathematics/ Statistics as a subject at 10+2 level or at graduation level with at least 50% marks (45% in the case of SC/ST Category) in the qualifying examination from any recognised University. MCA 3 years duration) eligibility criteria : Passed Bachelors Degree of minimum 3 years duration with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduate Level.
