Mechanical Engineering is a course which trains candidates on how to use tools and heavy machinery. It introduces learners to the designing and manufacturing of heavy machinery and other appliances such as vehicles, motors, aircrafts etc.

Mechatronics engineering on the other hand, is an interdisciplinary study of electronics engineering and mechanical engineering. It prepares learners on the application of mechanical and electronic engineering in designing and manufacturing communications systems, robots and computer-integrated machinery.
