IIIT stands for Indian Institute of Information Technology. As the name suggests, they especially deal with the fields of IT Industry. The branches offered here are generally CSE, ECE, IT (Exceptions are there). Moreover, they got a brand named as Indian (like IITs, sounds great! :) ) These are 20 in numbers. There are another type of IIITs which stands for International Institute of Information Technology.
NIT stands for National Institute of Technology. These colleges deal with all branches of engineering like CSE, ECE, ME, EEE, EIE, etc. These are 31 in numbers.
