What is the difference between NSB and other B-schools?

There are good numbers of differentiators- 1. 21-day long orientation. I must say that what I learnt in first 21 days made huge difference to me in my life. It was a great kick start for the program. NSB makes you very comfortable being among students from all cultures and states and they make reading interesting. 2. The teaching methodology - It is a big plus here. Classes are never dominated by professors.it is always student led and is mostly based on scenarios, case studies, and hands-on method. Classroom always buzz with energy. This is truly I cherish at NSB. 3. NSB has a foreign exchange program and that is very successful. Many students go to France and Spain to study one semester. There is no additional fees and only you have to take care of your expenses of travel and living. 4. Good Placements 5. Good activities for students through student clubs and academic clubs 6. Opportunities for industrial visits and internships and lectures series by industry top executives these are important ones. Since I really do not know what else other B-schools do, I have mentioned these. But I can say that NSB keeps all of us motivated through variety of activities

Hi Bala, Thanks for asking a very interesting question. Frankly, every B-school is different. Although all of them offer MBA degrees, they all differ in the quality of teaching, social life and placements. National school of business is very selective in admission as it receives over 4000-5000 application for its 150 seats. In my batch, there are students from 27 states!.NSB ensures that there is right balance in terms of gender and diversity. NSB also gets many international students. Here are some points that distinguishes NSB from the rest: 1. Excellent Faculty - Teaching is the most important factor in your MBA. At NSB, I realised that MBA is a very different course that requires brilliant professors. Ordinary teaching will not help at all. NSB has a great strength when it comes to teaching.all most all professors have qualifications from world-class institutions and are truly inspiring. 2. Exchange Program - Free exchange program opportunity for students in France and SPAIN is a big plus. This year almost 40 students are going on exchange programs to these two countries. This is one of the flagship programs of NSB where students can study one semester abroad without paying any additional fees. This has helped over 500 students in the past in creating the learning experience of life-time. 3. Social life is NSB is very vibrant. There are many student clubs such as - Cultural club, sports club, movie club, adventure club, literary club and so on that provides ample opportunity to enjoy life beyond classrooms. These clubs also have provided lot of leadership opportunities for all of us. I am also a member of Cultural club :-) 4. Additional certifications - offered by NSB gives you edge over other students. We have SAP/ERP, TQM/Six sigma coming up in the second semester. Third semester also has at least 3 other certifications ( please see our website for more info). ALSO, NSB has specialisation specific certifications. 5. Placements and Internship - NSB's good corporate network and connections is a big plus. The dedicated CR cell works all throughout he year to achieve internships and good placements. Many students also receive pre-placement offers.
