Percentage and percentile are both different.
Suppose you score 99 percentile then it means, that you have scored more than "99% of the total candidates who appeared for the exam"
And suppose in an exam you score 50%, that is just your score.It has nothing to do with what others have scored.
All the MBA entrance exams take percentile into consideration.

Percentile is a method yo tell you as yo where you stand. If you are in 20 percentile , it means only 20% students are below you. If you have 95 percentile then 95% students are below you.
