What is the difference between PGDBA and MBA?

Hi Rashida,
A PGDM (PGDBA in this case) is basically a diploma course, run privately by a B-School which is affiliated to AICTE (SP Jain, Great Lakes, etc.). In India, it is considered equivalent to an MBA. The PGDBA certificate is given by that B-school. It is more of practical.
MBA course is provided by a university(NMIMS, MU, Symbiosis, etc) and all the colleges coming under it (JBIMS gives MMS/MBA as it is currently under MU). The course is designed and evaluated by the university unlike in the case of PGDM. It is more of theoretical.

There is no difference subject wise. Only thing is that MBA would be more theoretical in nature, whereas in PGDBA is designed considering industry needs.
