What is the difference between PGDBA and MBA?

Hi Rashida,
A PGDM (PGDBA in this case) is basically a diploma course, run privately by a B-School which is affiliated to AICTE (SP Jain, Great Lakes, etc.). In India, it is considered equivalent to an MBA. The PGDBA certificate is given by that B-school. It is more of practical.
MBA course is provided by a university(NMIMS, MU, Symbiosis, etc) and all the colleges coming under it (JBIMS gives MMS/MBA as it is currently under MU). The course is designed and evaluated by the university unlike in the case of PGDM. It is more of theoretical.
