year PGDM is equivalent to MBA.All autonomous/private universities in India
cannot award MBA & they should award a PGDM (IIMs also confer PGDM for those
joining PGP).MBA is awarded by Indian Universities recognized by UGC & who are
members of Association of Indian Universities.

PGDM Stands for Post Graduate Diploma in Management.
And MBA Stands for Master in Business Administration, And this is a Graduate Degree Course.
MBA is a degree that is affiliated to a Recognized University But PGDM is diploma approved by AICTE.
The PGDM course will be of 1 Year And

The basic difference between MBA and PGDM are:
MBA is a degree whereas PGDM is a diploma.
MBA are awarded by universities, whereas PGDM are awarded by institutes offering management course.
MBA students can pursue Phd, whereas PGDM student can't pursue Phd as it is a diploma, and to pursue Phd

Hi Anil, MBA and PGDM are both business orientated courses. The main aim of the courses is to equip a person who wants to move up in the hierarchy and enter in to the management field. There are over a thousand recognized institutes offering MBA and PGDM in India.
MBA give more focus to the syllab
