8 years agoMBA is offered by 'universities' or 'colleges that are affiliated to universities' or central body directly under the Indian Govt. while PGDM is offered by individual colleges and IIM's.

These are the few differences between PGDM and MBA that will help you:
- Though a higher proportion of the syllabus is the same, there are a few dissimilarities that are important for you to know. MBA is more focused on theoretical aspects and is more exam oriented whereas PGDM focuses more on your soft skills and the practical knowledge.
- Only the colleges that are affiliated to a university can offer MBA and the institutes that are not affiliated to any university are autonomous offer PGDM.

MBA is a post graduate degree, whereas PGDM is a Diploma. MBA are hence regulated by UGC where the syllabus may change after years, whereas PGDM are industry driven. Anything that is required by the industries is updated immediately by the institutes.
IIMs provide PGDM and not MBA. The placements are evident of what to pursue.
