What is the difference between PGDM and MBA?

There is hardly any difference between PGDM and MBA. It is almost the same except for the fact if you want to do Ph.D from abroad. In case of MBA, you can immediately go for Ph.D after completing your post-graduation, but in case of PGDM, you need to have work experience of 2 years after your post-graduation before you can apply for Ph.D abroad.

Hello, MBA and PGDM is the same. Infact, many colleges provide the PGDM degree only. Before last year IIMS were also providing the same. So, don't get confuse that PGDM is somewhat inferior or something. Just opt whatever you want. Good luck.

MBA is a degree which has to be offered by a university that has to be UGC or AIU certified. No autonomous institute can offer an MBA. It is similar to PGDM, the only difference is that in MBA the syllabus is quite monotonous and doesn't change. The syllabus is not dynamic or industry oriented. The same syllabus goes on year after year whereas PGDM is offered by Institutes certified by AICTE. PGDM is more industry oriented and the syllabus changes according to the demand of industry. Well frankly speaking MBA and PGDM is not the concern of any organization hiring anyone for a job, what ids the main determiner is the amount and depth of knowledge and practical skills you have. It hardly matters whether you are an MBA or PGDM because although being a Diploma, PGDM if certified by AIU becomes equal to Masters and one can opt for Ph.D also.

Hello, MBA degree is given by a University, whereas a PGDM degree is given by a college affiliated to AICTE. Both are considered equivalent and reputed, provided they're pursued from only good colleges. Syllabus-wise, there isn't much of a difference.

In PGDM, you will get choose your specialization in the 2nd year and in the first year you will have to study all the subjects of all the domains. In MBA in first year only you have to choose your specialization and you have to go into one field from the beginning.
