ICWA has been renamed as the CMA course by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. The full form of the CMA course is the Cost Management Accounting course. There is no difference between CMA and ICWA cma is the new name of ICWA course however you can also refer your course as ICWA if you are pursuing CMA. The paper pattern syllabus eligibility criteria fees and career opportunities are still same and only subject to minor changes due to the changing Times.

Hi Deepika
There is no difference between the ICWA and CMA. They are two different words used to describe one single thing. ICWAI stands for Institute of Cost and Work Accountant of India whereas CMA stands for Cost management accounting. Earlier CMA was known as the ICWAI, which was replaced by ICMAI during past years. -
The ICAI (Institute of Cost Accountants of India) was formerly known as the ICWAI (Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India). Therefore, people sometimes regarded certified management accountant courses by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India as ICWA courses. All certified management accountant (CMA) courses, ICMAI courses, or ICWAI courses are the same. For more details, you may visit the Shiksha CMA Exam page. (https://www.shiksha.com/accounting-commerce/accounting/cma-exam). I hope this will help you.
