What is the difference between UGC approved and DEC approved? Is LPU DEC approved? Can I apply for government jobs?

Hi Amar, THE AICTE , UGC and DEC are bodies made by the government of India to evaluate the courses and curriculum being run by different private and public educational institutions. They determine whether the right standards of education are being maintained or not. An initial approval by these agencies also affirms whether students are taking admission in a decent institute or not. As far as MBA is concerned, DEC is for distance courses, UGC is for University run MBAs and AICTE is for other technical institutes. Regarding your question about degree or diploma, none is better than the other. Degrees are awarded by universities and diplomas by other institutes. You should focus on the reputation of the institute rather than whether they have degree or diploma being awarded.
