The duration of Occupational English Test is 2 hours 45 minutes. It is divided between different sections of exam. Below, we have mentioned sub-section wise break up of duration.

    OET Exam PatternTest Duration
    Listening45 minutes
    Reading60 minutes
    Writing40 minutes
    Speaking20 minutes

Please note that the Speaking test can be scheduled on a different day from the other three sub-tests, depending on the test format you choose (OET on Paper or OET on Computer).

  • Aspirants looking to appear for the exam should be aware that the test is divided into four sections, i.e. Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. Candidates are required to complete each subtest within the stipulated section time. Candidates should keep the entire day aside to complete their OET. The exam does not occupy your entire day, however, candidates are advised to not schedule any other planned activity throughout the day. This way applicants will be able to focus clearly only on the exam and will not be in a hustle to go for other planned activities for the day so that they do not get distracted.
