Candidates applying for admission at Fakir Mohan University need to qualify entrance exam. Only for BA LLB, the merit of the aspirants is considered for admission. However, it is mandatory for the aspirants to fulfil the eligibility requirements of the selected course. Below is FM University eligibility criteria for popular courses:

Fakir Mohan University (FMU) in Balasore, Odisha has the following eligibility criteria for admission:
- Bachelor's degree in any Science stream with at least 50% marks for general and OBC candidates, and 45% marks for SC/ST and differently abled candidates
- Passed B.Sc./B.Com./B.A. with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at graduation level and obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying examination
- Passed graduation with an aggregate of 45% marks from a recognised university
- Undergraduate degree with 50% aggregate
- 10+2 with 45% aggregate
