What is the eligibility criteria for an OBC candidate to apply for IAS exam. Also help me with the syllabus and books to prepare.
I wanted to know each detail about IAS Exams , the dates of exam this year, the entrance exam which is to be appeared, and can i appear for this exam this year i.e. 2010-2011\nAnd i would also like to know the qualifications to appear for this exam.\nI am under OBC category.

for that u should be graduate and there would be two exams pre and mains after getting selected you willl have to appear the interview also . the shedule and vacancies are not till decleared you must be above 21 and below for i as and below 35 for pcs

The educational qualification required for IAS is as such: candidates have to pass their graduation in any stream from a recognized university.
Percentile of graduation is not mentioned in the eligibility criteria. Age of the candidate must be between 21-30 years.

IAS exams/civil services exams are conducted by upsc every year.notification for civils prelims will come in january every yr and exam will be held in may.after prelims there will be mains and after that interview will be there.and minimum qualification is a degree.for any other queries revert back.
