BIT Sindri admissions are entrance-based. The institute accepts JEE Main score for BTech admission while M.Tech admission is based on the institute's entrance test as well as Physics as For doctoral programmes, the institute conducts its entrance examination. BIT Sindri affiliated to JEE3 University of Technology offers 10 BTech and five M.Tech programmes across 15 departments at UG and PG levels.

Candidates need to fulfil the eligibility criteria to apply for the BIT Sindri BTech programme. Below is a detailed eligibility for BTech:
- Candidates need to pass Class 12 standard or equivalent examination from a recognised board.
- Have studied Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects as well as Chemistry or Biology as optional subjects.
- Have secured a minimum aggregate of 45% in their qualifying exam if they are from the general category. However, reserved category candidates have to secure a minimum aggregate of 40%.
