The following are necessary conditions for admission to SKUAST Jammu's B.Tech program:
1) Obtaining a 10+2 (or equivalent) diploma, specializing in mathematics, chemistry, and physics is required.
2) A minimum of 50 percent of the points is required overall in the qualifying test (general category or EWS category) or 40-45 percent for the restricted categories such as (SC, ST, OBC).
3) Besides, candidates must appear in the SKUAST Common Admission Test (CET) or any other equivalent entrance test the institute accepts.

- The selection is then based on the entrance exam of the university
- There is no reservation for the couse B.Tech. Biotechnology
- And the candidate should also score minimum 45% in the ICAR AIEEA
