What is the eligibility criteria for PhD at NIT Mizoram?

<p>For, Engineering courses, students need to qualify GATE exam and for non-Engineering courses, students need to qualify for the NET exam. However, one needs to be a graduate or post-graduate in a relevant stream.</p><ul type="disc"><li><strong>For Engineering specialisations</strong>, candidates must have completed their PG degree in Engineering/ Technology with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 in 10 point scale or 60% aggregate in the qualifying exam or have a bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Technology in a relevant area with a minimum CGPA of 7.5 or 70% aggregate and with a valid GATE score</li><li><strong>For Science specialisations</strong>, candidates must have completed their PG degree in Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 on 10 point scale or 60% aggregate in the qualifying exam (No scholarships are awarded to these candidates)</li><li><strong>For HSS specialisations (Economics/ English)</strong>, candidates must have completed their PG degree in Economics/ English with a minimum CGPA of 6.0 in 10-point scale or 55% aggregate in the qualifying exam</li></ul><p>There is a relaxation of 5% for the SC and ST category candidates.&nbsp;</p>
