    To be eligible for GATE, candidates must meet the following criteria:

    1. Age limit: There is no age limit for GATE.
    2. Educational qualification: Candidates must have completed their Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology or Master's degree in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Computer Applications/Statistics from a recognised University.
    3. Minimum marks: Candidates must have secured at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwD) in their qualifying degree.
    4. Eligibility for paper: Candidates must have studied the required subjects in their qualifying degree, as specified in the GATE paper they are applying for.

    Hi Nandana, GATE is an online national level examination conducted by IITs for admissions to post-graduate programs like M.E. /M.Tech and direct Ph.D. offered by higher education institutes across India. No, a duplicate GATE 2026 admit card will not be provided at the test center. Candidates must carry their own admit card along with the mentioned documents and items to the GATE exam center. IIT Guwahati will release the GATE admit card on January 2.

Candidates will get only one scribble pad at a time. They must write their name and registration number before using it. If the rough sheet gets filled, then they can ask for another one scribble pad after returning the previous one to the invigilator. After the exam concludes, candidates must return the scribble pad to the invigilator.
