What is the eligibility criteria to become a lecturer?
I have completed M.Com with 55% marks. I have also failed in first year M.Com.

Minimum Qualifications for direct requirement to the post of Assistant Professor (lecturer) Qualifications for TEACHING POSTS will be as laid down by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and as adopted by the University, from time to time.
i. Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master's Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

2014-10-29 16:19:16If you mean a Government job, you need NET qualification, 55% in PG, getting qualified in the relevant test and all these for getting UGC pay scales which are claimed to be high. -
If you have a post graduation followed by M Phil/PhD or an M Tech you may apply for the post of Asst Professors at an entry level. If you have qualified for NET you will be eligible for lectureship

Dear Manjunatha, you need to have following qualifications to apply for the post of lecturer.
i) You need to have a post graduate degree in the desired field.
ii) You must pass the UGC NET eaminations. The eligibility for appearing for NET exam is that you need to have a minimum 55% for Gen/OBC and 50%for SC/ST candidate in post graduate.
iii) There is no aeg bound for lecturer post.
iv) you need to have a PhD qualification to become lecturer in any university.
