What is the eligibility criteria to pursue B.Tech?

Hi Sikandar, Eligibility A BE or B.Tech aspirant must have Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as their subject options in Class 12. Until now, the candidates used to apply separately for IIT-JEE, AIEEE, state-level engineering entrance exams, as well as entrance exams conducted by various engineering institutes. The scenario is expected to change from 2013, when a single engineering entrance exam will be conducted for all the engineering colleges in India. Now, engineering aspirants also have to pay more attention to their Class 12 scores as they will have an equal weightage in the merit list. Career Prospects After BE or B.Tech, you may want to join a job in their field directly or may choose to study further. For management careers, you can prepare for CAT as an entry gateway to top 15-20 management colleges in India. Study abroad aspirants will have to prepare for GRE and GMAT to get entry into colleges in US, UK, Australia, Canada, Europe or New Zealand. For academics or career in research, you can pursue an MS course from abroad or specialise further in your field with an ME or M.Tech course. To apply for an M.Tech programme at any of the IITs or ISB, Bangalore, engineers have to appear for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). PSUs like Bhabha Atomic research Centre (BARC), and Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) give preference to candidates with good GATE scores.
