10+2 Science stream schooling is required. Also, subjects pursued while in school should be- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Minimum aggregate marks required in PCM subjects- 60%. Minimum marks in English subject- 50%. -
Candidates with PCM subjects in 10+2 are eligible to seek admission in B.Tech Marine Engineering four years degree course. Indian Maritimes University Chennai conducts entrance examination for admission in colleges offering Marine Engineering degree course. B.Tech Mechanical Engineering degree holders can do one year diploma course to become Marine Engineer.
