<p>The eligibility criteria to seek direct admission for the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech. Lateral Entry) course at CUSAT are: - Any three-year Diploma in Engineering / Technology awarded by a Board of Technical Education recognised by the Department of Technical Education, Government of Kerala, with not less than 60% marks. - Candidates who have completed 3-year Diploma in Plastic Technology and Diploma in Plastic Mould Technology offered by CIPET with not less than 60% marks are eligible for B.Tech Mechanical Engineering Lateral Entry. - Candidates belonging to Kerala Scheduled Caste (KSC) and Kerala Scheduled Tribe (KST) communities are eligible for applying, if they have minimum pass marks in the qualifying examination. - SEBC candidates of Kerala State belonging to non-creamy layer category are eligible for 5% relaxation in the minimum required marks for the qualifying examination. - For Instrumentation and Control Engineering, 3 years Diploma in Instrumentation or Electronics awarded by a board recognised by the department of technical education, Govt. of Kerala, with not less than 60% marks is required. - A pass in the Diploma Examination in Engineering/Technology conducted by the State Board of Technical Education, Kerala or other states or any other equivalent examination after undergoing an institutional course of minimum 3 years duration with a minimum of 50 percent marks or equivalent. - Candidates should be on permanent technical / professional employment for at least two years at the time of application after passing the Diploma Examination in any of the following type of establishments: Government Organizations, Quasi - Government Organizations, Industrial firm duly registered under Society’s Act, Public or Private limited companies registered under Companies Act.</p>
