    Hi,
The UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) of India conducts the exam and on the basis of the result IAS, IPS, IFS officers are selected.
The Civil Services Examinations are held in two phases -
the first is called the CSAT which replaces the Preliminary Examination (Prelims).
This has 2 papers - the general studies and general aptitude paper.
    The second Main Examination (Mains).
After that, there is the Personality Test or Viva-Voce before the final selection. Graduates can take the entrance examination .
I would request aru.chopra to give you detailed information regarding this exam.
    Feel free to discuss more.
    All the Best.
