    Following is the eligibility criteria for CDS (a) For Indian Military Academy/ Officers Training Academy: Degree from a recognized university or equivalent. (b) For Indian Naval Academy: Bachelor of Engineering (c) For Air Force Academy: Degree of a recognized University with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level or Bachelor of Engineering. UPSC conducts CDS exam twice a year.

    According to CDS eligibility criteria 2020, candidates applying for the exam must be 20 to 24 years. Candidates who have passed graduation or appearing for their final year are eligible to apply for CDS exam provided they submit a relevant certificate of passing the examination at the time of commencement of course.

    Hi
    The candidate must be between 20-24 years as of 1st January 2024. The candidate should not have been born later than 1st January 2004 and not earlier than 2nd January 1998). Age is 20 to 24
    Education graduate
    For the CDS exam, applicants can be from any stream but for entry to the Air Force and Navy, candidates should have studied Physics and Mathematics up to Class 12.
    2022, 2023 so you will have 3 attempts for IMA, INA and AFA if you are a male candidate. For OTA you have 5 attempts left

    Hi there, The Combined Defence Services CDS Examination is conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission UPSC for the recruitment of candidates into the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy.     The eligibility of the cds exam is graduation in Science, commerce, arts but if you choose ima ina and afa then you must graduate from the Science stream arts and commerce students can only opt for the ota academy.

    For CDSE, the candidate must be a graduate or appearing in the final year for army. For Air Force and Navy, the candidate must be a technical graduate. The age of the candidate should be between to 20 to 25 years.

Candidates can check below the CDS 2 2025 age limit:

  • IMA: Candidates for IMA should be unmarried and must have been born not earlier than July 2, 2002, and not later than July 1, 2007.
  • INA: Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than July 2, 2002, and not later than July 1, 2007, can apply for INA.
  • AFA: To apply for AFA, the age of candidates should be between 20 and 24 years. They must have been born not earlier than July 2, 2002, and not later than July 1, 2006. The upper age limit of candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India) is relaxed up to 26 years

Yes, the CDS 2 application last date to apply was extended to June 20 from June 17, 2025. A one-time extension was provided by the commission. The application correction window was opened from July 7 to July 9, 2025.
